Wrote this album initially for demos that I sent to Naoki Kenji. I think he liked the compilation yet there were discrepancies with what is here to do with patencies to do with company themes. Hence, I didn't want to waste the effort of this work & just wanted to get the material out there hence here they are.

Album review:

Prepare for a journey through the digital matrix of Syllable Music's Kobayashi, of Geelong, Australia… an epic journey through both sound and bytes. The cerebral fluidity of the project is an ocean worth experiencing and Start- in it's infinite musical depths- never disappoints the listener. With the music masses seeking all things new and exotic, Kobayashi's Start proves to be refreshingly right on-time.

The composition begins with the Aussie astral travels and crunchy drum layer cake of Chariot Scenario, which walks the tight rope-thin line between experimental and intentionally avant garde gracefully. As the synths and vocal riffs in the track begin immersing the mind, it becomes immediately apparent that this project is sheer sugar chops and headphone candy.

Following Chariot.. is the steadied and piano brazen War of Mind, followed by the futuristic instrumental Ghetto Rhetoric. Kobayashi effortlessly bends octaves, harmonies, and synth notes into the desired mood while challenging these whims with perfected drum programming. The track Salutations centralizes the formers, as well as the songs following it with a warm herbal tea-esque vibe that rides calmly on high piano keys, wandering percussive accentuations, and a welcoming main melody.

Dear Manhattan charges forward like the New York skyline with cool tones before juxtaposing itself against audio graffiti that takes the track into a completely different place that only small venue performances and subway trains provoke, normally. The track Tale Early provokes deep thought as the melody battles against a syncopated swatch of sound clothed in circling ambiance as Kobayashi changes the canvas of the rhythmic matrix yet again with the easy going pianos and saxophones of the drum heavy Eagle's Sanctuary.

Start closes out with a mystical final song, Coincide With Sal, which gallops and time travels over a broken line of sound that ties in throughout. Much like some works of Fine Art, Kobayashi's Start uses production know-how and sonic innovation to achieve definitive, thought provoking music that allows for a wide spectrum of interpretations and appreciations. For listener's who like think music that soothes the soul while challenging the norm- and can even enhance homework or hours of studying- Geelong Australia's Kobayashi & Start is it.
